engaging the journey

My goal is to allow middle school parents to create a solid expectation between parents and students for transitioning into high school and beyond successfully with a guide called, Life is:

In the “real” world, education prepares us for what life is… becoming, creating, and marketing our passion and purpose. In the high school classroom, “SWBAT” is an acronym for “Students Will Be Able To.” The acronym intends to suggest what students can accomplish by learning and understanding the lessons in the classroom.

Life is, successfully understanding what we “should be able to do” by becoming, creating, and pursuing our passions.

This series evolved from the idea that before students move from middle school to the next level, high school, they must understand what they “should be able to do,” and connect the “why” of high school to the first step into their adult journey.

Most students are not aware that high school starts the process for whether they get into college, or that CTE (Career and Technical Education) gives them a pathway to complete some college coursework before graduating high school, or going directly into the workforce. Many students also aren’t aware that they should be able to understand the power of life long learning.
