The people of America are currently debating the indictment of the police officers involved in the case of Rayshard Brooks. Oh say can you see Mr. Brooks is a man who was shot down. Much like a deer, he was running away in bewilderment. With his back turned, Brooks was chased down by a police officer who was ready to fire at him. To some, there is the confusion of the circumstances Rayshard Brooks faced on the night of his murder. The actions of the officer and the reaction of Brooks were heightened as a result of the officer’s assumption of guilt, and more importantly, the prejudice held against Brook’s skin color.

Oh say can you tell me how does humanity become so callous and cold? The split between the decent and the indecent in America during the 21st Century is still defined by the color line. This problem has been prominent for so many years. The white men that hunted and murdered Ahmaud Arbery were given more consideration for their freedom and life in the fact that they remained free without charge from February until May. Rayshard Brooks, whose initial crime was falling asleep in a parked car, and possibly having too much alcohol, was arrested and murdered on the same night…
